GLAMOROUS MAKEOVERS!
Owner Leslie Santos looked past this Chesterfield sofa's tattered, sun-washed facade and saw good bones. She took the tufts out of the down bench cushion for a clean, modern look and then reupholstered the piece in bold red velvet.
What do you think of the sofa's new look?

Owner Leslie Santos looked past this couch's horrendous facade (what is going on with this dated fabric combo!?!) and saw potential. With a little TLC, removal of the tufted backing, and new modernized geometric yet subdued fabric she gave this unwanted piece a new lease on life.
Do you like the sofa's new look? Or would you go with a different fabric?

BEFORE... Oak cabinets and little light made the liveliest space in the home the least appealing. The upper cabinets almost looked dwarfed against the enormous window and the 4 inch square tile backsplash and laminate counter tops had most certainly worn out their welcome.
AFTER... Now, a new island adds an additional 6 sq ft of counter space. Hewett opted to add decorative feet and raised end panels to give it more of a furniture feel rather than a box that had been dropped in the middle of the kitchen. Replacing all of the appliances afforded the opportunity to add details like the wood hood and eliminated dated tools like the trash compactor. The upper glass front cabinets cannot be ignored, not only do they add storage and provide a beautiful display, they balance out the large window.
WHAT CAN YOU SAY?

Architect JANNAH JORDAN and Essential Design + Build brought space originally constructed in the 1930s into the 21st-century. Talk about a transformation!

• We don't care whether or not you ever remodel or buy a new sofa. We certainly don't care if your home meets some arbitrary standard of 'taste.' And we do not impose our personal taste on our clients. We care that your home works for you, and is helping you reach your goals, not sabotaging your dreams.
• We are action-oriented. We have a get-it-done, don't over-complicate it kind of attitude. We also try to help our clients keep perspective during the project, because there is rarely a design-emergency, and your health and marriage is always more important than the color of the carpeting.
We specialize in transition design. That means re-creating spaces in homes after divorce, empty nesting, remarrying, career shifts, and relocations. As you move forward in life, you want to make sure you are living in a house that supports your future, and doesn't keep you stuck in the past.
We want you to feel at home in you house and in your life. Working with Rivalee can help get you there. Email [email protected] for a consultation, let’s see what we can create together!
